Stand tall like guardians of the waters, embodying the spirit of Scotland's folklore.
It's not just about the destination but also the journey; I love this saying because it's so true. Elliott and I loved exploring all the destinations we had planned, but we also stopped throughout the drive at places we knew would provide an unforgettable experience. One of these stops was a famous Scottish landmark: The Kelpies.
The Kelpies are the iconic monumental pair of steel horse head sculptures, designed and built to represent the ancestry of the heavy horse in Scottish industry and economy. These horses pulled wagons, barges, ploughs, and coal ships, shaping the geographical layout of the Falkirk area.
Crazy fact: each head is 30 meters high and weighs 300 tonnes! How amazing is that?
This was an incredible experience for me personally, as I have grown up with horses my whole life and know first hand just how incredible these creatures are. They are loving, majestic, beautiful animals that we humans don’t deserve. Walking around and admiring the intricate details of the sculptures, knowing they were designed and created to honour how extraordinary horses are, only deepened my admiration for the Scottish people.
The Kelpies: Where myth and artistry unite in a breathtaking display.
