RoadTrip 2024 Intro
In the summer of 2024, I had the most incredible holiday!
There are so many great holiday options: Flying to the beautiful Bora Bora, taking a train through Austria, or sailing around the Mediterranean on a cruise ship. So, why did I choose a road trip in my home country, the UK?
Honestly, while there are countless gorgeous places around the world, and yes, the UK weather isn’t always the best, we have plenty of stunning places to explore. That’s something I’ve wanted to do for the past five years and one place I’ve desperately wanted to visit is the magical land of Scotland.
Scotland has always fascinated me; Perhaps it’s the magical fantasy stories I’ve read, the breathtaking scenery, or probably a mix of both but Now, I can finally say I’ve done it. Elliott and I embarked on this journey in our own unique style.
Elliott loves driving and his car is his “Precious” so he was immediately on board with the road trip idea. From there, we got to planning: budgeting, making lists of essentials, and mapping out our route. It was an incredible experience. However, We didn’t just explore Scotland; Our adventure took us through several amazing places.
Our first stop was Manchester. From there, we traveled to the Lake District and then on to Glasgow. Finally, we reached Scotland. We drove through the unexpected and stunning mountains of Glencoe, stopped to say hi to Nessie at Loch Ness, and ended our Scottish journey in the incredible city of Edinburgh. On our way back over the border, we made one last stop in York.
Every place was amazing, We tasted new foods, explored mountains and caves, breathed in the crisp Scottish air, met people from all over, and learned so much about the places we visited. It was an unbelievable experience. No matter how many words I write, none will truly capture how incredible it was.
I haven’t gone into too much detail here because I have many articles to publish about the experience. Keep an eye out for food and drink reviews, travel spots we explored, and more!
