An Edinburgh Afternoon Tea at Harvey Nichols

Savouring the delightful elegance of afternoon tea, where each sip is a moment of bliss and every  bite a taste of sophistication.

Plate 1:

• Tiramisu in shot glasses ⭐⭐⭐⭐

• Chocolate biscuits ⭐⭐⭐

• Strawberry cheesecake ⭐⭐⭐⭐

• Chocolate cake ⭐⭐⭐

This was a very posh and tasty combination of sweet treats. My favourite was the tiramisu, which was surprising because I’m not usually a fan of coffee. However, the coffee flavour was mild and wonderfully complemented by the creamy goodness it was mixed with.

Plate 2:

• Cranberry scones, clotted cream, and preserves ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This plate pushed me out of my comfort zone. I do enjoy a scone with cream and jam, but I’m not typically a fan of fruit scones. Despite that, this was a very enjoyable experience, and I found myself savouring every bite.

Plate 3:

• Hummus and pitta bread ⭐⭐⭐⭐

• Caramelised onion and feta quiche ⭐⭐⭐⭐

• Pesto and mozzarella croissant ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The staff were all lovely and excellent hosts. The location itself was great—although we had hoped it would be warm enough to sit outside on the balcony, the cold, rainy weather meant we stayed indoors. Despite this, we still enjoyed a beautiful view of Edinburgh and took some time to explore the shopping area afterwards.

As an extra little treat, we visited the delightful macaron shop onsite and Yes, we treated ourselves to a selection!

Elliott’s Review: Elliott had never experienced afternoon tea before and was initially skeptical, as he isn’t a fan of sandwiches or scones. Honestly, he was doing it more for me. However, I knew his opinion would change once he tried it and I was right! He ended up enjoying the sweet and savoury options, as well as the scones with cream and jam. Elliott's favourite savoury dish was the Caramelised onion and feta quiche and the Pesto and mozzarella croissant, and his favourite sweet treat was the strawberry cheesecake.

We definitely look forward to our next afternoon and Harvey Nichols, you’ve set the bar high!
